Chalmers Johnson: Nemesis- The Last Days of the American Republic

I don't recommend books very often; but if you haven't read Chalmers Johnson's Nemesis, published in 2006 by Henry Holt and Company, please take a serious look at it. Mr. Johnson describes and documents the present crisis of American democracy in a definitive manner, linking the decline of the security and civil rights of the American people with the expansive growth of imperialistic militarism of the executive branch of government; more particularly George W. Bush and his Neo-Con entourage. Nemesis is must reading in my opinion. You will be very disturbed by it, but much enlightened.
