A Brief Introduction to the Book-Version of Open Dimension
The Open Dimension consists of commentary on social issues, politics, religion and spirituality written over the past four years by Alfred McGuire.
McGuire is a semi-retired psychotherapist/ psychiatric social worker and certified hypnotherapist, with a doctoral degree in counseling psychology
Originally a practicing attorney, he changed careers during the 1980's. His interests include history, constitutional law, social psychology, Hindustani classical music, yoga, meditation and spirituality.
The author's point of view is one of deepening concern over current political and social developments; more particularly, the increasing power of the corporate elite; the establishment of a for-profit-only mentality and social structure in the United States; the growing economic subjugation of the citizenry; the apparent apathy of many Americans in the face of blatant financial exploitation and usury, violations of privacy rights, chronic unjustified warfare and a host of additional aberrations on the part of a corporately controlled government; and the displacement of ethical and spiritual values in consequence of burgeoning hyper-capitalism, hedonism and moral relativism.
The critical need for renewal of objective thinking and spiritual discernment is the emphatic note in these blogs.
