The Public

Okay, no I haven’t become a fundamentalist; and I’ve been living in southern California ( the low point in human evolution ) for a number of years, so my views may be skewed. But the following biblical passage seems to sum up pretty accurately an alarmingly high percentage of Americans and people in “developed” nations influenced by American materialism, greed and sociopathic narcissism in 2008. Or, as George Carlin put it so pointedly: “ The public sucks.”

They put Bush in office twice. And now the polls show a very close race between McCain and Obama. People get what they deserve. And as a friend of mine put it, it might be just as well if McCain gets in. At least that will likely precipitate the coming cataclysm, which seems increasingly inevitable. Why prolong the agony?
Anyway, here’s the passage:

2 Timothy Chapter 3:

But understand this: there will be terrifying times in the last days.
People will be self-centered and lovers of money, proud, haughty, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, irreligious,
callous, implacable, slanderous, licentious, brutal, hating what is good,
traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
as they make a pretense of religion but deny its power. Reject them.
